Two Cambridge athletes are ramping up their efforts for this month’s London Marathon, raising valuable funds for Sew Positive in the process.
Gabi Williams (pictured above) and Joseph Barker-Sherry – who is a Trustee and the charity’s Treasurer – will complete the 26.2-mile course on Sunday April 26th. Taking part in the prestigious event – a major world marathon and massive charity fundraiser – they will be among thousands of runners.
Joseph has already raised more than £3000, while Gabi, supported by friends (including two of the charity’s other trustees), her partner Sam and dog Norma, ran a gruelling 24 miles over 24 hours on Easter weekend to increase her contribution.
She said: “It was tough, especially during the night when we were battered by Storm Dave – high winds and rain made it hard going. Although I was exhausted by the end of it, I’m glad I got through it. And it’s all in a very good cause.”
Both runners – and Sew Positive of course – will appreciate further support. Please give generously:
